Start with your coordinator
Exlink is the software your exchange organization runs its program on. Your account, your placement, your documents and your program dates all belong to that organization — which means they can answer almost every question faster than we can, and they are the only ones who can change your account.
Your program
Accounts and invitations, placement and host family questions, documents you have been asked for, travel dates, and anything about the program itself.
Contact your program coordinator directly. Their details are on the home screen of the app.
Technical help
The app will not open, a screen is not loading, notifications are not arriving, or something looks broken.

About the emergency alert
The alert in the app notifies the support staff at the organization running your program. It does not contact police, ambulance, fire, or any other public emergency service.
If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number first — 911 in the United States, 112 across the European Union — and send the alert afterwards so your program team knows as well.
Common questions
Where do I download the app?
The Exlink app is free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad (https://apps.apple.com/app/id6808783278) and on Google Play for Android (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=us.exlink.app). Install it and sign in with the account your program gave you.
How do I get an account?
Accounts are created by the organization running your program. There is no sign-up in the app or on this site. If you are a participant or a host family and do not have an account yet, contact your program coordinator — they can issue one.
I cannot sign in.
Enter the email address your organization has on file; the app finds your organization automatically from it. If the email is not recognised, it is usually because a different address is on file, so check with your coordinator. For a forgotten password, use the reset link on the sign-in screen or ask your coordinator to send a new invitation.
Why can I not see Travel, Messages, or another section?
Each organization chooses which features are switched on for its participants, host families, and staff. If a section is missing, your organization has not enabled it for your account. Your coordinator can tell you what is available on your program.
What does the emergency alert actually do?
It notifies the support staff at the organization running your program, and includes your location if you allow the app to share it. It does not contact police, ambulance, fire, or any other public emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number first.
Does the app track my location?
No. Location is read only when you send an emergency alert, and only while the app is open. There is no background location tracking. You can send an alert without sharing location at all — your team is still notified.
How do I delete my account or my data?
Because accounts are created and held by the organization running your program, deletion requests go to them first. You may also write to [email protected], and we will act on the request in line with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
For the full terms covering the app and the platform, see our Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and End User Licence Agreement.
